Raised with racial taunts and felt unloved. If she attended an event at school and was given great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade the young girl started to grow more confident. The experience not only increased her confidence but altered the direction in which she went on to pursue her career. At the age of 22, she was able to graduate from in the Julliard School of New York. At the age of 23, she started her professional career on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old, her movie debut was You've Got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway show Spamalot winning not just the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. Following that she was made the lead character the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. Alongside being a popular singer, she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. Also, she is an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
